What it is

Beat Check-In is The Beat Newsroom's check-in service for chamber of commerce events. At the door, you check in by sending one text to our number. The morning after, the chamber that hosted the event gets an accurate record of who came.

Beat Check-In is our service. We own the number (877) 271-6567, we write every text it sends, and we handle HELP and STOP. Chambers never send texts through it.

How opt-in works

  1. At the event, you'll see a Beat Check-In sign with a QR code and an event code.
  2. Scan the QR code. Your phone's texting app opens with a message already filled in, such as CHECKIN TESTV-1028, addressed to (877) 271-6567. Nothing is sent yet.
  3. You choose whether to send it. Sending that text is how you ask to check in. You can also type the code yourself and text it to the same number.
  4. We reply to confirm your check-in. If we can't match your number to the chamber's member list, we ask once for your name and business.

Up to 3 messages per check-in. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out. We never send marketing or promotional texts.

Texting is optional. You never have to text to attend or to check in: the chamber's welcome table can check you in by hand.
